Best day EVER!...almost

Since I started working we have had our family nights on Sunday night because I work 5-8pm on the week nights.
This Sunday was Ethan's first primary program, he was so good! He was a bit sad that daddy couldn't be there to see it, so I let him talk to him on the phone before heading off to primary.
After we got home from Church Brian had another seizure and I really thought it really wasn't going to be such a wonderful day....but it changed.
For family night we learned about being a good example and we played "do as I'm doing" the kids loved it and really caught onto the concept.
Then we decorated the Christmas tree and lit it up.
this is our finished product. Brian and I bought this tree our first Christmas together and bought the ornaments at the dollar store. I thought the boys did a good job with it.

This one is our winter wonderland. I LOVE the snow, snowmen and snow flakes, I am a total winter junkie.
Later, as part of Sunday/family night, we have movie and popcorn night. Ethan and I picked "Up" the new pixar movie. Brian and Kaleb had never seen it.
Ethan kept asking questions about the movie before it happened so i had him sit by me so he wouldn't give it all away. :)

The boys were sad to have to go to bed but they both told us they thought it was the best night ever...and they want to do it again tomorrow :)

This is a picture of the fog that set in last night too, I wish the picture could do it justice, it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen.

It really was a VERY good day!

Roast Kid and Walmart Boy

As a quick update (not like you don't know already) Brian and I are back together with the kids in Colorado. We have a cozy little house in a quiet part of Greeley Colorado.

Now with that said I will get on to the adventures of Roast Kid and Walmart Boy....

Ethan (Walmart Boy)Today we went to Walmart to pick up some food for the week. We drove up the the store and we were parking the car when Ethan says "Mom, what kind of store is this? is it a store with toys, or the grocery store?" I told him there were toys at this store and we could go look at them when we get inside. He then looks out his window and sees the Walmart sign on the outside of the building and bursts out "MOM, I KNOW this place..."save money, live better, Walmart"" he even said it with the comercial tones.

To think,...at little over a year ago he couldn't talk.

Kaleb (Roast Kid)

So on Monday night, I made a roast for dinner. We had plenty left over so Brian cut a chunk off the left overs and cut it into cubes for Tuesday nights dinner (pot pie) and put it in the fridge. Tuesday morning we found Kaleb under the table with the open container with the cubed roast eating his heart out. Of course we took it away and told him it was for dinner that night. So even after two dinners and Kaleb's snacking, we still had a good chunk left over.

Wednesday morning I decided to take the kids to the Library, on the way out the door Kaleb says "wait mom, I have to get my piece" I was thinking "piece of what, okay, whatever", he runs back under the table and has this chunk of roast in his hands with a huge bit taken out of it. At that point I just let him have it.

St. George

Shortly after arriving in Utah we took a trip to St.George for a family reunion. We got to stay in a resort with my parents.
One day we drove by the Temple and I was able to get a few shots. We also went to the dinosaur tracks museum, Ethan and Kaleb really loved that.
And of course we went to the reunion.

Here are my two cousins Melissa (left) and Aubrey (right) we used to play a lot together when we were kids, we didn't get to see each other often though. We are missing my sister Ann from the set of us, otherwise we would have been complete. It was wonderful to see them again and it was so kind of Melissa to let me stay a night at her house.
This is where Kaleb spent the majority of his time at the museum.

That's my Kaleb...such a nut

This is Ethan's Spider Man jump into the pool.
He was so brave jumping in the pool and going under water. He also learned how to swim with his water wings in the "Big pool"

4th of July

I know that this post is a little late, but here is our fourth of july.

We went to the parade in the morning, we got a little rained on but the kids loved it! I think they ate more popsicles that morning then they have all summer combined.

They had a float there for Monster Vs. Aliens and I thought my kids were going wild when it went by.

Ethan and Kaleb got to sit with their friends Ien and Damon. They all had a lot of fun. That's the back of Ien's head right there in front and Ethan and Kaleb sitting with Damon standing behind them.

This part of the parade was AWESOME! Ethan knows that I really love BYU football so when the truck came by he got all excited, and not only was it an awesome truck with the BYU football team painted on the side, it was Optimus Prime, and then to make it even better, Cosmo came by and gave him five!!! I have never seen a happier boy.

On the way to Grandma and Grandpa's house Ethan asked me "mom, does Heavenly Father play football?" I said "He plays for BYU". right then and there Ethan decided that when he grows up he's going to play football for BYU.

Thats my boy!!!

After the parade we went to my grandparents house to have a BBQ. Cindy's husband Glen sat at the table with the kids and they all drew pictures.

After fireworks that night the kids crashed with no trouble :)

it was a fun day.

In Utah

As many of you now know, the boys and I are in Utah for the summer. We hope that we will be able to go home in August, Brian is trying to find a house for us so we are waiting here until then.
So, in order to pass the time and not think about how much we miss daddy, we have been finding some fun things to do around here.
This marks the beginning of our summer adventures in Utah!

Ann and Brett decided to take us on a hike to Bridal Vail Falls our first week here! The boys loved it! Kaleb was a little scared of heights for a while, but he got used to it.

The boys loved the water up there and Ethan was so proud that he climbed up there. My little guys are such troopers!

easter

This was our first Easter in Colorado. On Saturday we hid eggs around the yard for the kids to find and Ethan and Kaleb were quite good at it, they had so much fun. On Sunday morning it's tradition for Brian's family to hid the easter baskets but they also hide eggs around the house. Anyway, about 6:30am Ethan comes in our room and says he found some eggs and wants us to get up, so Brian gets up and goes out and starts to laugh, he asks me to come out and there on the couch Kaleb has about 20 eggs that are all opened and his cheeks are FILLED with jelly beans.

We all had a fun day! we had a delicious dinner and Brian's uncle Daniel and his Daughter came by on their way back to Virgina, it was great to see them too.

This picture makes me laugh. I tried to bribe them to take a picture before church by giving them a piece of candy. I should have waited until after the picture, but I love that they are both doing the same thing.

Happy Easter Everyone!
